William F.'s Story
Life
After HS I joined the Air Force. Spending time away made me realize what a big wonderful world there is and I wanted something more than Ft. Pierce had to offer. Moving to Ft. Lauderdale I started driving Tow Trucks while going to college. After graduation, I got involved in selling Towing Equipment. In 2003 I moved my family from Weston, FL, To Fernandina Beach where I had opened a towing company of my own. I definately experienced what my customers went thru on a daily basis. WOW, the money was awesome, crappy hours, un-caring employees, (a rotating door so to speak), Soooo when the opportunity arised in 2005 I decided this was my chance to get back to my other life and SOLD!.
My old boss had heard that I sold and asked me to help him find a place on the Treasure Coast where we could open another dealership. After extensive negotiating, we bought the old Mitsubishi Dealership Bldg. on US-1 next to Taco Bell, (I still can taste the enchaladas). I moved into a home on North Indian River Drive, put my boat on the dock and called Fort Pierce home for about a year while I opened TruckMax.
I saw alot of Changes while I was home, ALOT!!!
I helped Tony DiFrancesco make alot of them also, The demolition of Barrie Reeds Auto Plaza, the Jaycees bldg. on North US-1, The old Bowling Alley, Great memories there!. I saw the McDonalds on US-1 get torn down and re-built within 90 days while they were finally after all these years re-building the Burger King in front of K-Mart at US-1 and Virginia. The old Pink Shopping plaza at Emil Rd and US-1, Tony had just started gut...Expand for more
ting as I was packing up to move back to Fernandina Beach, TruckMax was just about opened, my job finished, and I had some Issues to contend with up north.
In November of '06' I went to work covering South Georgia for a Wrecker Distributor out of Lilburn, GA. While I was at the office, I Visited with Mom and Dad, my 2 sisters Kim and Tracy, as well as my brother Mike and his family often and really got to like the area, although it's not the beach, there are some really great lakes around there. The distributor I was working for asked me to work in office full time so I moved to Monroe Georgia to be closer with my family. Low and behold as things go, I was offered a position at Toyota Mall of Georgia as Internet Sales Manager So after 20 something years in the Wrecker industry I took it. In February of '07' I got full custody of my then year and 5 mo. son Dylan John Ezell. (Another day, another story) Working at Toyota gave me the time to devote to the legal stuff I had to go thru to keep him, and I won full custody on August 20th '07'.
In October of '07' I started the Road service side of my old business up and decided to leave Toyota and run it full time covering the NE Metro Atlanta area. I have expanded to cover Athens Georgia and the University of Ga. as of Jan 1 2008. Life is good!
Oh, and YES, I am a Single Parent, more like the movie "Big Daddy" and DO have full custody of my now 3 yo Son, Dylan John Ezell.
My oldest son William F. Ezell IV is still in Fernandina going to College for Engineering in Jacksonville. His Mother and I are very proud of him.
